Gale Force 9

Ellyanne Navas, Student Writer

Tight coils in your shoulders

will always reveal your wings.

Soft hair, pink lips, furrowed brow

Many forget, that Lucifer

was once the angel of beauty

The east wind blew

and you reveled in the shiver

           Branches with hot leaves

           grasped for the stars

           Cracked and creaking

You live as the chill warms you

To me, you are wind

Vital.

              Full.

                          Powerful.

        But, dear,

you are suffocating me.
