A Burning Passion

By Carlos Garcia

You caught my eye when I saw you walking

Your brown skin is so nice, your red hair, you’re so tall

I stopped and turned when I heard you talking

Your voice so soft it almost made me fall

I wanted to talk, but you left so soon.

All my heart wanted was for you to stay.

What I remember from that afternoon,

Was your hair like fire in the darkest days.

I tried hard to find you day after;

I looked through every hallway to find you

Like a small boy who had lost his mother.

I just hope that you feel the same way too.

A few days have passed and now we are friends,

I wish and hope that this has a nice end.
