Gardenias are flowers that are originally from China and Hawaii. The colors of these flowers are mostly found in white but yellow is included as well. Gardenias are mostly used for hedges and ground covers. In France, gardenias are a traditional flower for men to use as boutonnieres and even in weddings where these type of flowers are often chosen for wedding bouquets. Gardenias are the fifth-ranked popular flower and symbolizes purity, love, and refinement.

Orchids, also know as the “Butterfly Orchid,” are flowers that are native to tropical regions such as Asia and Australia. These type of flowers come in many variety types and colors such as pink, yellow, red, and green. Orchid are used in the medical industry where the Chinese use it for medicinal tea to help strengthen the immune system and for better eyesight. Orchids were also used in prehistoric history when the Aztecs made a drink that included orchids and chocolate to help give them strength. Daisy flowers are native in North and Central Europe and the term originally comes from the word “daes eage,” which means “day’s eye”. These flowers are called daisies because they start to bloom at the beginning of the day. In Norse Mythology, daisies are the are the sacred flower of Freya, the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. Similar to orchids, daises are useful for herbal medicine to reduce bleeding, ease digestion, coughing, and back pain.  Daisies also have many vibrant colors like orchids, that includes pink, orange, yellow, white, and red. Historically, carnations were even used in garlands by the Greeks and Romans. Just like orchid and daisy flowers, carnations have many vivid colors including pink, white, red, yellow, and scarlet. These different colors of carnations can also have different meanings. Light red carnation are  used for conveying admiration and dark red carnations are used to express affection and sentiments towards love. Whereas white carnations represent purity and luck, pink carnations express the sign of gratitude. Carnations are the second-ranked popular flower in the world and symbolize fascination and distinction.

Roses are originally native to Asia, but since roses are mostly popular due to their beauty and fragrance, they are also native to North America, Europe, and Northwestern Africa. Unlike orchids, daisies, and carnations, roses have a wide variety, or collection, of different colors. Some of these colors include: white, dark pink, light pink, yellow, orange, peach, coral, lavender, and the most popular color ever, red. Like carnations, roses also have different meanings based on their colors.  For instance, light pink roses represent admiration and sympathy; yellow roses express joy, delight, and friendship; and peach roses represent appreciation and sincerity.
