Andrea Mendoza, Staff Writer

Andrea Mendoza is a 16-year-old junior at Birmingham Community Charter High School. Andrea just started attending Birmingham in her junior year. Andrea was born and raised in Pasadena, California. She has two brothers, two step-brothers, and one sister, and all of them are older than her which makes her the youngest of the family. Andrea’s parents are from Mexico, her mom is from Michoacán, Mexico and her dad is from Jalisco, Mexico. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies,  listening to music, and riding her skateboard.

Andrea likes going to Mexico to visit her family. She likes Spanish music more them English music and some of her favorite movies are “Terrifier,”” The Babadook,” and “The Inheritance.” She likes all kinds of scary movies. Some activities Andrea likes doing are going to swap meets, downtown L.A., and thrift stores. She just really likes shopping. She can be social sometimes, but she’s not super super social. If you get to know her, then she’ll be more and more talkative and more open.

Andrea’s goal is to have good grades throughout her high school years and to graduate. She wants to make her parents and her siblings proud. She’ll be the last one to graduate in her family or five. Andrea doesn’t know what she wants to be when she’s older but first, she is thinking about being in the FBI and working with the police, but then she sometimes thinks about being a kindergarten teacher. Whatever she is when she’s older, she hopes she likes her career and is good at it.
