Angelynne Tinajero, Student Life Editor
Angelynne Tinajero is a 16-year-old junior at Birmingham Community Charter High School. Angelynne was born on January 23, 2009, in Van Nuys, California. She has an older sister and brother who both attended Birmingham a few years before her. Over the past two years, Angelynne has been involved in both volleyball and beach volleyball. She first started playing volleyball in the eighth grade because of one of her friends, and since then, she has fallen in love with the sport and hasn’t stopped playing since. This year, however, Angelynne decided to take a break from volleyball and focus on her education, planning on making herself and her loved ones proud. Although she is no longer playing volleyball at the moment, she shares much gratitude for the experience and will forever be grateful for the people she met and for being able to be beach partners with one of her closest best friends.
Angelynne not only found interest in volleyball but also in soccer. She played soccer in her younger years and stopped for a while, but returned and played throughout her middle school years. Although she had much interest in soccer, she didn’t plan on joining the Birmingham soccer team because she found volleyball more interesting and wanted to explore that interest even more. Although she doesn’t play soccer anymore, she still enjoys playing for fun with family and friends. Beyond sport, she likes to go on late-night drives playing music and reminisce about the scenery. She enjoys this because it allows her to think about her feelings and let any sort of stress or sadness out. Angelynne is a very emotional person, so this activity allows her to think deeply about herself and life. Besides being a very emotional person, she is a very family and friend-oriented person. She loves spending time with people that she loves and cares about. She always pushes and supports her friends and family to be more than what they think they are.
This is Angelynne’s first year writing on The Patriot Post. Angelynne was put into the journalism class by her counselor and is grateful for the opportunity due to all the friends and the amazing teacher that came with the class. She is very excited to start writing for The Patriot Post; she’s excited for the new friends she’s making and for a chance to learn how to write even better. She always had an inspiration to write, but never took it seriously. Now that she’s in the journalism class, she can finally start taking writing more seriously than before. She hopes this new experience stays great till the very end. She looks forward to writing many stories and making them engaging, interesting, and meaningful.
