Rosemary Mancia is a 15-year-old girl who attends Birmingham Community Charter High School. She came from a small school and none of her close friends went to the same school as her. She had some people she knew from her old school but they weren’t friends. She made new friends and loves where she is now and the people she has around her.  Rosemary was born in Van Nuys and lived there until she was six. She then moved to Oregon with her aunt for a year, and then she moved to Bakersfield when she was seven and loved it there because it was quiet and peaceful.  After moving around so much, her parents finally decided to settle down, and she moved back to Van Nuys and has been living there ever since. Although she loved living in new places, she always missed home because that’s where her family was.

Her mom is Mexican/American and her dad is Salvadorian. She only met her dad twice so she doesn’t know much about him or talk to him, but she and her mom are the best of friends. Rosemary loves her mom because she feels that she needs to be there for her and be able to give her everything she has ever wanted as a kid. Her mom’s name is Nancy, she was born here in the United States but when she was three years old her grandma took her to Mexico to live with her. She lived in Mexico until she was 16 her mom wanted to take her back to the United States and she did, when she was 17 she had her first child. That wasn’t her only child she had four more, three boys then it was Rosemary who was the first one, and then her youngest brother who came after her.

Rosemary was always very close to all her brothers as she loved being around them even though she always got bullied by them. One of her favorite things was going to their baseball games. It was always so fun because she would always go on the field and play with them after every game and then they would always go out to eat after. She started playing baseball when she was eight years old because she wanted to be like her brothers. She played for three years and then stopped because she realized she didn’t enjoy it like before.

Rosemary is a nice, funny, and very quiet girl. She is very to herself and doesn’t like talking to people much. She loves listening to music while drawing. She loves to play volleyball and is on a volleyball team outside of Birmingham.

Rosemary has a cat and a dog whose names are Jane and Smokey. She’s had Jane since she was in the third grade and just got Smokey when she was in the eighth grade, and he was just a kitten when she got him. Her favorite color is blue and she loves roses. She also loves to eat and her favorite foods are pozole, pasta alfredo, and Wingstop.

Rosemary wishes to travel the world one day, especially with her mom. When she graduates high school, she wants to become a nurse, as it’s one of her dream jobs. She loves to help people when they get hurt and be able to look out for them. She feels that being able to help others will get you the same in return, but better.

She loves going on late-night drives because she loves the feeling of the air, loud music, snacks, and her friends. She also really loves to go out with her best friend Ashley. They both love to go to the beach, go shopping, go to theme parks, and they love food. Ashley and Rosemary have been friends since they were in fifth grade and have been friends ever since. They don’t go to the same high school but still talk very often. Although they are both very busy, they make days to go out and spend time with each other even if it’s something small. She loves the way her life is at the moment and hopes that she continues to love it and come up with way more accomplishments/goals.
