On February 2nd, 2020, Super Bowl LIV premiered, raking in 99.9 million viewers that all tuned in to watch the beloved American sport of football. The Super Bowl is one of the biggest televised events ever and caters to a broad audience. Such an audience includes those who enjoy watching the game, those who are there for the half time show, or, what some may say is the best part of the Super Bowl, the commercials. Here are the top five commercials that premiered during Super Bowl LIV.

5. Best Thing Since Sliced Bread – Little Caesars

With the debut of Little Caesars’ new delivery service, it is compared by customers as the best thing since sliced bread. Rainn Wilson, the leader of the sliced bread industry, is driven crazy and ultimately sides with the “competition”. If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em!

In our eyes, this commercial is the best thing since Little Caesars’ delivery service.

 

4. Facebook Groups: Ready to Rock? – Facebook

The tech giant, Facebook, has announced their new feature, “Facebook Groups,” by showing various groups of people with the same interests. This commercial uses the song “I Wanna Rock” by Twisted Sister, incorporating multiple groups that plays on the word “rock.” From rockets to rocking chairs to Chris Rock and Rocky Balboa. Facebook’s usage of puns in order to advertise their new feature “rocked!”

 

3. Inside Post’s Brain – Bud Light

This Bud Light beer ad allowed us an insight inside of Post Malone’s head, showcasing his body reacting to the new Seltzer beverage by Bud Light. Making sure his senses approve of the drink, Bud Light ultimately succeeds and places a smile on his face.

 

2. As Good as the Original – Mountain Dew

Mountain Dew showcased their Mountain Dew Zero Sugar with a call back to the film “The Shining,” using the well-liked Bryan Cranston to reenact the famous “Here’s Johnny!” scene. This then reveals how he wants Ellis Ross to try the beverage while she screams in horror.

Amazon’s Alexa has always been a help during modern times, but how did people experience life prior to Alexa? In this commercial, Ellen asks her wife this question, in which numerous scenes of people with names similar to Alexa help others. This goes as far back as medieval times.
