It has been 10 long years since the Lakers won their last NBA Championship with Kobe Bryant.

The 2020 Los Angeles Lakers dominated the NBA Finals to win their 17th NBA title. With the final score of 106-93, the Lakers managed to beat the Heat during all four quarters and ended the series in six games.

Most importantly, the Los Angeles Lakers have also won their 17th title, tying the Boston Celtics with the most NBA titles. The Lakers fanbase has been waiting for another moment like this since 2010–which has been a very long time for these fans. Throughout all the ups and downs of the past few years (with the Lakers not seeing the playoffs amid losing records), the Los Angeles Lakers have now finally captured the precious title they’ve waiting for.

However, the main topic is not only about the Los Angeles Lakers making more history by adding more titles into their franchise, but it’s also about Lebron James making more history and adding to his resume by winning his 4th NBA title, 4th NBA Finals MVP, and also being the only player in the NBA to win an NBA title and NBA Finals MVP on three different teams.

Anthony Davis also won his first-ever NBA title ever since he joined the league back in 2012. While this series with the Heat was actually against one of the most challenging teams the Lakers faced in the postseason.  LeBron James and Anthony Davis both managed to have their same winning mentality and won their first NBA title together.

Although LeBron and A.D weren’t the only reason they won the title, it was also because of their outstanding teammates who came ready to play in Game 6. For example, Rajon Rondo went 8-11 from the field and 3-4 from three-point land which adds up to 19 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 17 points and 2 rebounds. Rondo and Caldwell-Pope were the two other key-players that also led the Lakers to win their 17th title with a dominant Game 6 win.

The Miami Heat, on the other hand, did play their hearts out all 6 games with Jimmy Butler being a sensational player each time he stepped into the court. Yet it wasn’t enough for Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat to win the championship.

Overall, before each season begins, there’s always a goal for each team. Most goals for each team probably involve knowing they don’t have a good team so they rely on the #1 pick in the draft. The second goal is going to the playoffs/finals, and lastly, winning the NBA Title.

While there are teams looking for a playoff spot, there are also teams that are hungrier than just making the playoffs. Also, it’s usually the team that wants it the most that comes out on top. From this perspective, it was the 2020 Los Angeles Lakers who came out on top and won their 17th NBA title.
