J Cole and Kendrick Lamar are good friends but who’s the best rapper?

J Cole has approximately 25.3 million listeners monthly while Kendrick Lamar has 33.6 million. J Cole’s most popular song, ¨No Role Modelz,¨ has 1 billion listeners while Kendrick Lamar carries 1.4 billion on his song “HUMBLE.”  “HUMBLE” was released in 2017 while J Cole’s  2014 album Forest Hill Drives was released in 2014. This means J Cole had more time to get more listeners than Kendrick Lamar but he hasn’t succeeded.

Forest Hill Drives has a total of 1.2 billion streams while Lamar’s Damn has a total of 2.6 billion. Cole’s net worth is $60 million per year while Lamar’s net worth is over $180 million and there’s a huge difference there! J Cole won a Grammy Award for best rap song back in 2020 and so has Kendrick, who has a total of 13 Grammys. He earned his first Grammy back in 2013 for best rap performance on his album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City.

Most people,when asked which of the two rappers they liked the most, responded with Kendrick Lamar. In my opinion, I also think Lamar is better than J Cole for a variety of reasons.

Lamar’s album, Damn, is one of his best albums and viewed a lot by other people . Kendrick Lamar is known for  an American rapper who achieved critical and commercial success with such albums like Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, Damn, To Pimp A Butterfly, and more!

Kendrick Lamar has been compared to many big rappers such as Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G, Jay Z, Nas and the king of rap, Eminem. Many fans believe his albums Damn and To Pimp a Butterfly deserve to win rap album of the year and they both were nominated. On the other hand, J Cole’s contribution to rap culture isn’t small but not as large as Lamar’s.
