Are you a big fan of “Beetlejuice?” Want to support Play Pro? Come to Birmingham Theatre’s upcoming musical, “Beetlejuice,” on April 20, 2025! After some planning from the theatre teacher, Mr. Wienckowski, he believes this musical will be “exciting for people to come to see.” Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming play at Birmingham.
“Beetlejuice” is originally a horror/comedy film that first came out in 1988. The story starts with a “recently deceased” couple who become ghosts who haunt their own home. An annoying ghost from the netherworld named Beetlejuice is in the same house. The ghost came to terrorize the people who currently live in the house. The film is truly chaotic and is recommended if you’re into that kind of film.
People who want to be in the musical don’t need any experience. To be in this musical, choir students will get the songs from their teacher Mr. Suffolk, and then have an audition. Mr. Wienckowski believes that “it’ll be a great experience to just be in the musical,” and “encourages anyone to try to be in the play.” The musical has people from the 9th grade to the 12th grade, so anyone can join.
The acting cast includes some people who have been acting for a while. Two-year actor Ruben Renteria(12) has been in many plays, including “Romeo and Juliet” in which he portrayed Romeo. He was also in “Mean Girls” as the principal. Ruben hopes that “everything comes together and is organized” and wants the play to be “the best experience for the audience and the actors.”
