“Final Destination: Bloodlines” is the newest movie in the Final Destination franchise and came out on May 16, 2025, in the United States. It was written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, with help from the original creator, Jeffrey Reddick. The movie continues the deadly story the series is known for and adds a new twist that connects the past to the present.
The Final Destination series started back in 2000. Each movie is about a group of people who escape a huge accident because one person has a scary vision. But surviving does not mean they are safe. Death comes back for them in crazy and unexpected ways. “Bloodlines” keeps that idea but connects it to the older movies in a new way.
This time, the story takes place in New Orleans. It follows a teenage girl named Eva Ramirez who is at a big family reunion when she has a vision of a deadly ferry boat crash. She warns everyone, and a few people get off the boat just in time. But after that, the survivors start dying one by one in creepy and strange ways that do not seem like accidents.
Ahead of the movie coming out, we interviewed a BCCHS fan named Jasmine Cruz (9) to hear her thoughts about “Final Destination: Bloodlines.” “I have always loved these movies,” Cruz stated. “They keep you guessing, and the deaths are so unexpected.” She said she is excited that the new movie connects to the first one. “I hope it has some good twists and scary moments. I like when it makes you think, like what if death had a plan,” she said. Jasmine is excited to see if anyone will survive this time.
One thing that makes this movie different is that Eva’s family is connected to the first film. Her great-uncle survived the Flight 180 plane crash from the original movie. That means death has been following her family for years. Now Eva has to find a way to break the cycle or survive before Death finishes what it started.
