Ever get bored of watching the same shows on Netflix? Well, here are some new series on Netflix that you might enjoy!

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” is about a women who recently escaped a doomsday cult in Indiana where she has been kept for fifteen years alongside another captive. The series shows how Kimmy Schmidt adapts to her new life in New York City. Kimmy Schmidt is played by Ellie Kemper, who is known for her roles in Bridesmaids, The Office and 21 Jump Street. The show is produced by Tina Fey who recently ended 30 Rock and wanted to produce another series, unfortunately, the series did not get picked up on prime-time, so, Netflix stepped in and took the show for themselves. The show has been a hit ever since it premiered March 6th with a 4 out of 5 stars on the Netflix website.

American Horror Story

American Horror Story “Murder House” is the first season in the four season series, and it is about the Hammon family moving into a new house in order to fix their family problems. Unfortunately for them, the house is haunted by past owners. Each season is based off of a completely different theme including: “Murder House,” “Asylum,” “Coven,” and “Freakshow.” The seasons contain drastic changes from one to the other with the actors playing a different role each time. Well known actors like Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, and Kathy Bates have all been a part of the show’s series. Producer Ryan Murphy is currently in the works for the show’s fifth season titled American Horror Story “Hotel” and it will include Lady Gaga as a main character.

Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time is about main character Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), who lives her life as planned in New York City, when the child she gave up for adoption visits her and changes her life around. The show takes place in Storybrooke, a magical town inhabited by storybook or fairytale characters like Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast with modern day crisis. The title, Once Upon a Time, along with the opening credits helps foreshadow what the episode will be about. There are four seasons of the show with three seasons already on Netflix.

Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy is about a biker club, named Sam Crow that is located in Charming, California. The club sells contraband and other items to make money to support themselves and other members of the club. The main character, Jax Teller, struggles with his moral compass that conflicts with the biker club’s way of life.  Throughout the show, Jax tries to persuade the club to do their activities the legal way while the club sees otherwise. There are six seasons with five of them being on Netflix. The show has a 4 1/2 stars rating on the website as well.

House of Cards 

House of Cards is centered around politics and the corruption that is involved in order to get things done within Congress. Main character Francis Underwood is a senator who helps the president win the presidency under the deal that he would become the vice president. The deal soon falls apart after elections are over, and because of that, Underwood is set to destroy the president. The show is based on the book House of Cards written by Michael Dobbs.  All three seasons are located on Netflix.
