Alejandra Sanchez, Staff Writer

Alejandra is a senior at Birmingham Community Charter High School. Alejandra has been attending Birmingham since 9th grade, but she did not get to enjoy her freshman year since the school closed down due to COVID-19. She was born in Northridge, California, and her parents are from Oaxaca, Mexico. She only has one younger brother, making Alejandra the oldest. Alejandra also has a dog named Myla and she is eight months old. Growing up, she had a lot of love for dogs and had been begging for one until recently–when she got her first-ever dog!

Alejandra likes to go thrifting, going on adventures, and shopping. She also likes going to rodeos, and bailes on weekends. She loves watching people ride bulls, horse riding, and dancing. Alejandra enjoys spending time with her family, especially when they all get together on weekends or on holidays. In her free time, she likes to color, go on walks, hit the gym, or do her makeup for fun. During the summer she likes to go to Mexico in July and spend time with her family, go on adventures, and go dancing. Since she was little, she and her family would go to Fresno just to visit family and find adventures.

Alejandra always grew up very shy and quiet, but once you get to know her, she’s talkative and sociable. Alejandra has always been unsure about her plans after high school. She is really into makeup, skin care, and self-care. After high school, she plans to go to cosmetology and esthetician school.
