Maximiliano Vazio, Opinion Editor
Maximiliano Vazio, who goes by Max, is a senior at Birmingham Community Charter High School. His main hobbies consist of skating, listening to music, playing video games, and lifting weights. He also likes to read, take photographs, and explore new places, but doesn’t do it as much as he’d like. As a person, Max is reserved but enjoys pushing himself out of his comfort zone to experience new situations and grow as a person. He also enjoys learning new things about himself.
During and before the pandemic, Max’s life revolved around playing video games and staying indoors, but he later realized there was much more to life than a screen and a chair. This is when he started to explore his surroundings. His habits and interests had gone through a switch, and his taste in music had gone from somber and mellow to rappers like Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, and Kanye West. His other changes include his diet, work ethic, cleanliness, physical fitness, and overall self-care.
Max believes that above everything, people should strive for improvement and work on themselves before trying to change others. Doing so will allow people to find new hobbies, mentalities, and connections. This has been Max’s focus for almost two years and he feels that he has changed for the better. After high school, Max plans to attend Cal State University. His main focus is entrepreneurship, but majoring in civil engineering will be his safety net in case of any complications.
Max is the current opinion editor for The Patriot Post. The reasons he is qualified for the position are because of the enjoyment and concentration he obtains from writing, and because he loves to debate and voice his stance on people, things, and situations. He is not afraid to be honest or incorrect. Being able to admit failure is important in order to solidify a strong opinion.
