Jeselyn Merino, Staff Writer
Jeselyn Merino is a senior at Birmingham Community Charter High School. She is 17 years old and has taken several honors and AP classes . She is currently in journalism and yearbook . Jeselyn is the president of the Divergent Explorations Club. She loves to spend time with her family and BBQ. Jeselyn is excited to be in journalism this year because she likes to be part of school-related things. She has two older brothers, Jason and Jeffrey. She hopes to pass both semesters with straight A's and attend a good university. She hopes to become an optometrist because she is very interested in how the eye works.
Her hobbies consist of listening to music, traveling, spending time with family, and working out. Her family is mostly made up of males, so she gets spoiled by her uncles, parents, and brothers. Her parents were born in El Salvador but most of her family is Mexican. She is the type to get stressed easily, so she works out to help release her stress. She has traveled to Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, Hawaii, El Salvador, Arizona, Nevada, Canada, Washington, Texas, and Oregon, and Mexico. Next year she will be going to Germany again, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.
