Alexis Ramirez is a 16-year-old senior who loves to play soccer. He spent most of his childhood playing the sport he loves and watching the anime shows that he loves. In the midst of it all, the thing he loved to watch the most was anime. He has gone through a lot of anime, but his favorite of all is HunterxHunter. Alexis is someone who likes to spend time with his family and friends. He comes from a family of two immigrant parents so he is here to show the world that anyone can make a difference and succeed in life. With his Latino heritage, he likes to eat a lot of food, specifically Mexican and Salvadorian food. His favorite foods specifically are mole and tortas. When it comes to school, he likes math and science. He is a student who likes to learn and teach new things. When it comes to sports, he has been playing soccer since the age of five. His favorite team is FC Barcelona and his favorite player is Lionel Messi. Alexis hopes to go to UC Berkeley which will be a challenge but anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
He also has a passion for playing the guitar. He started from a young age and has found love for it. With music, he can vibe to pretty much anything. His favorite artists consist of Giveon, Brent Faiyaz, J. Cole, and Logic. He has recently started learning about the 90's and 2000’s R&B, learning about Lauren Hill, Fugees, Usher, and many more. He likes to think he has a variety of music tastes. He has recently found a new interest in NFL Football because his friends started a fantasy league and he is now watching a lot of football on Sundays. There is one player who catches his eye, Justin Jefferson from the Minnesota Vikings. Alexis also has a liking for cooking and he tries to cook at any time he can at home.
Alexis likes to think he is unique and would like to inspire incoming students to do something while they can in high school. He wants students to know that Birmingham Charter High is a safe environment and is a place with many opportunities. He believes students have to take advantage of the easy pathways to a great career. He would like to open a new pathway for himself with journalism. He will put his all into this newspaper and show that Journalism is another class he can pass and have fun at the same time. He has many friends in the class and likes typing up stories.
