Nicole Parel is a 15-year-old sophomore attending Birmingham Community Charter High School. She was born on May 20, 2010, raised in Van Nuys, California, and is an only child, although she has had her cat with her all the time. She dreams of being successful and finding her passions, as she doesn’t quite yet know what to pursue in life.
Nicole loves nature, getting flowers for herself, and taking care of them as she preserves her flowers. Nicole has many interests and hobbies, such as playing the violin, golf at BCCHS, photography, and origami. While Nicole may not know what her path will lead her to, she knows who she is, and she is hopeful for the future. She surrounds herself with a pretty small friend group in which half of her friends attend other schools, but still stay in touch. Nicole is a pretty quiet person, but when she is with her friends, she acts bubbly and goofy with them. Her personality consists of love and kindness for all, but she is quiet about it sometimes; she doesn’t let negative opinions bring her down.
Nicole’s parents are both from the Philippines, and she has two pets, a cat named Mimi and a tarantula called Cotton. She received Mimi when she was 10 and Cotton for her birthday when she turned 13. She adores her caring and loving cat, as she is always there for Nicole and comforts her when she’s emotional. Tarantulas don’t really feel with their owners, but I’m appreciative of each other’s company, as a spider’s life span is pretty long.
Nicole doesn’t really listen to music, but when she does, she listens to K-pop and indie pop, such as the artists Twice and Beabadoobee. She wishes to indulge in more music as she plays an instrument, the violin. While Nicole’s personality is quiet, she doesn’t stop talking about her two main hobbies, golf and the violin.
She dreams of going to college and is interested in the fields of science and English. She hopes and strives for a greener future by recycling, upcycling products, and teaching everyone about our environment. Nicole also loves writing in her little journal and is particularly good at English. With her empathetic nature, she understands and enjoys helping others grow. During most of her free time, she spends time with her mom, and there is a lot they talk about. Nicole loves to plan the places, time, and costs of wherever they are going.
When she spends time with herself, she doesn’t feel the need to plan and explores by taking the bus. She hasn’t traveled yet, except when she was a toddler, but she would like to go to Rome and Alaska. She loves the history of Rome, and she thinks Alaska’s scenery is very pretty. In conclusion, Nicole loves a lot of things and doesn’t have any hatred towards anything; she instead empathizes with everyone and chooses peace.
