Are you ready for Lakers Basketball?  The NBA off-season was very thrilling. The Lakers off-season grade is A- according to CBS sports, and the Lakers are one of the highest rated teams in the NBA. The Lakers have acquired one of the biggest names in basketball, Anthony Davis, via trade with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers front office traded away Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart to the Pelicans for Davis.

They’ve also traded first round future draft picks for DavisThroughout the NBA free agency, LeBron James and Anthony Davis tried persuading many free agents, including Kyrie Irving and Kawhi Leonard, to come join them on the Lakers.

James and Davis were mainly targeting Kawhi Leonard to join the team. The entire NBA was waiting on Leonard’s decision on which team he would join. Basketball fans were saying that he was “taking forever” to make his decision. In the second week of the off-season, he joined the Lakers rival team the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Lakers later added a lot of NBA stars searching for a championship. They added (C) DeMarcus Cousins, (G) Danny Green, (G) Avery Bradley, (G) Quinn Cook, (G) Troy Daniels, (F) Jared Dudley, (F) Kostas Antetokounmpo, and (C) Dwight Howard.

With new head coach Frank Vogel at the helm, the Lakers now have a coach with experience that can lead this team to the promise land (the playoffs/NBA Finals). As the season opens, DeMarcus Cousins has suffered a season-ending ACL tear in his knee during a preseason practice game. This leaves Dwight Howard and Javale McGee at the Center position. The potential starting five is:

  • PG – LeBron James

  • SF – Kyle Kuzma
  • PF – Anthony Davis
