Birmingham is currently undergoing its first collaboration with Project Prop Drop, a philanthropy organization that “deliver(s) food, clothing, medical supplies, beauty products, toys electronics etc., to local missions, community programs and philanthropy driven organizations.” All proceeds of the drive will go to the Los Angeles Mission Homeless shelter. The needs list includes socks, toiletries, clothes, blankets, tap cards, and non-perishable foods.

To help collaborate with this charity, the school has promoted and given an incentive to help bring items in. The hallway that brings in the largest amount of items and fills the most boxes will win a free party with provided lunch during second period in early March. Each hallway has a designated teacher “captain” to bring the items to (pictured on the left). If that doesn’t appeal to you, just know that by contributing to the drive, you’re going to be supporting those who truly need it.
