Hannah Bivins, Student Life Editor
Hannah Bivins is a 17-year-old Senior at Birmingham Community Charter High School. Hannah has been attending Birmingham since her junior year when she switched from Granada Hills Charter High School. Hannah is a Gemini, and her birthday is June 3rd. Hannah has lived in California her whole life and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. Hannah has been to Florida, Idaho, and the Bahamas. Hannah has five dogs (all pit bulls plus a husky+German Shepherd.) She has always been surrounded by animals and nature her entire life. Hannah has three siblings (two older and one younger.) Hannah has always wanted to help people since she was younger because she has such a big heart. If you were to ask her siblings what they think of her, they would describe her as a very shy but outgoing person once you talk to her.
Hannah has always had a passion for investigating true crime because it is something that she has always been interested in. Ever since she was little, she has always watched Criminal Minds, and she has always been invested in thinking about how serial killers' minds work and why they think like that. Hannah has also always been into all things scary. Didn't matter how scary it was, she was intrigued. Hannah watches a ton of scary videos, whether it's Sam and Colby or Scary Stories Animated. She always enjoys writing poetry and painting. Painting is something that she has taken up since her grandpa would let her paint with him. Hannah has played a lot of sports in her life. She has done ballet, baseball, and hockey, and she is now playing Roller Derby. She has been playing Roller Derby for six years now. Hannah also enjoys reading and watching sunsets as those are her two favorite things to do when she has free time. She always gives kindness to anyone who deserves it, no matter what. She has always had a soft spot for people but also observes how people treat others.
Hannah really enjoys horror movies and listening to music. Some of her favorite artists are Alex G, Deftones, Childish Gambino, Billie Eilish, etc. She always enjoyed going out to concerts when she was little. The first concert she ever attended was Justin Bieber when she was 12. Hannah's favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas. Halloween has always been Hannah's favorite time of year because it's where she feels like she can express herself.
Writing poetry is something that Hannah has enjoyed since the pandemic quarantine. She mostly writes about her experiences and she also writes about her past. Poetry has really opened Hannah's eyes. Hannah has always had a passion for reading and writing since she was a little girl. Hannah also loves flowers and her favorite flowers are Baby Breath and Tulips. She has always had a thing for collecting them or handpicking them off the sidewalks or trees. Nature is one of Hannah's favorite things and she feels as if people take it for granted. People just don't care enough about plant life. Hannah has always wanted to travel and see the world for what it is.
