Little Sister

Little Sister

Jackie Yaffe, Student Writer

You are annoying, but you are loved with every breath the monkey takes

You are a love that will always be there, pretty everywhere

A door in your face here, arms around you there

Fragile little fingers you had

Wrapped in a blanket, as if you were a little burrito

Soft, chubby cheeks, like the clouds were glued to your face

The echo of your little cry filled the small, white room

Everyone looking at you, as if they found gold

In my arms, I held your fragile limbs

Careful, be gentle with the baby  mommy said.

Such a cutie, everyone thought you were beautiful, an angel

Be cautious young one, she is just a newborn

Of course, I would always be protective over you.
