Esteban Reyes-Romero, Staff Writer

Esteban Reyes-Romero is a 17-year-old junior who attends Birmingham Community Charter High School. He was born on June 4, 2008, grew up in Van Nuys, and still lives there. He lives with his three siblings, mom, and dad. He wants to pursue his dreams of becoming a theoretical astrophysicist and making his parents proud. He always tries to improve his skills and grow from the mistakes he has made in the past, and he hopes to attend a top-tier university. He is striving to make an impact on future generations and one day become a great physicist and win a Nobel Prize.  In the meantime, he is taking classes to get ahead in college, and he wishes to make an impact in his current community.

Esteban’s school experiences have been great and also bad at times. He went to Gault Street Elementary School, where he did not do the greatest academically, but once COVID hit, his school experience went on a downward spiral until he got to 8th grade, where he realized that he has the same capabilities of doing great things as other people do. Once he realized this, he started doing well in school and passing all of his classes with high grades, and he had surpassed most expectations that were set for him. Once he arrived in high school, he started to get involved, and he also started to get into advanced classes, passing them with mostly all As. He started a club to find like-minded people, which he did, and now he is planning on teaching these individuals new topics in astronomy.

Esteban enjoys learning new things every day in his free time. Something new he has learned is how to solve integration problems with a more complex technique. He really loves math, and his favorite subject is Calculus. Another thing that he enjoys doing is playing and teaching his brothers every day. He aims to show them what is right and wrong, and he also helps them excel in school. His family means the world to him because of how much he cares for them, and he hopes to take care of his parents in the future. He also wants to see his siblings succeed in life. He enjoys spending time with his friends when he has enough time because he doesn’t see his old friends from middle school much. They parted ways when they left for high school, and many of his friends went to Reseda High School.

In conclusion, Esteban has big ambitions to make it to one of the highest-tier universities for physics. The top ones he is aiming for are Harvard, Cambridge, or Oxford. He knows he can achieve this as an 11th-grader by hard work and passion, with his family supporting him through his journey. He aims to publish various articles in The Patriot Post, and he also hopes to bring light to urgent topics that people need to pay attention to. He will achieve these goals by getting help from his peers in the journalism class and also helping other staff writers with publishing stories.
