Raymond Castro, Arts and Entertainment Editor
Raymond Castro is a 15-year-old Sophomore. Raymond Castro attends Birmingham Community Charter High School. High school was very different for him but he has now been here for a year and feels like he knows his way around. Raymond has made many new friends and still hangs out with his original friends. Mostly everyone calls him Ray and he has met many new staff members. He has stayed in Journalism for his second year. Most freshmen would overlook the opportunity to join Journalism but for Raymond it was his favorite class and still is Mr. Hughes welcomed him and helped him expand his vocabulary and writing skills. Mr. Hughes was a great teacher and helped him feel comfortable especially because he was the only freshman in a class full of Juniors and Seniors. Raymond fit right in and even took on Opinion editor his first year. Overall, His first year with Journalism was great and He fit right in.
Raymond’s hobbies have changed quite a bit since 9th grade. He enjoys playing basketball, going out with his friends, taking care of his dog and listening to music. Raymond enjoys listening to R&B and Rap music with some of his favorite artists being J.I, J.Cole, Brent Fayaiz, Toosii, Rod wave, A Boogie and Lil Baby. His favorite thing to do is listen to music while playing basketball. Basketball is a way of therapy so Raymond tends to go to the park and play a lot. When he is not with his friends or not playing basketball he is either watching YouTube or he is watching clips of his favorite football team the Green Bay Packers. His favorite player is Aaron Rodgers, he started watching Aaron Rodgers in 2011 when they won the Super Bowl. Ever since he has loved the team and in Raymond’s opinion believes Aaron Rodgers is one of the best to play quarterback. He also will watch his favorite Basketball team the Warriors. His favorite player is Stephen Curry and loves to watch his highlights. Overall sports play a big role in Raymond’s life.
Overall, Raymond Castro is a 10th grader and loves being with his friends and family. He enjoys being in journalism and has the same dreams from 9th grade. He still tries to do anything to polish his writing skills and challenges himself. He still loves writing and reading about sports and enjoys coming up with stories about sports. Raymond is a name you will want to remember.
