On September 8, 2025, reports were made about a rotting aroma coming from an old Tesla that was under the name of famous singer D4vd. Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 13-year-old girl who was identified as missing in 2024, was found dead in famous singer D4vd’s car in the back of the trunk. Her cause of death was reported as “deferred” by hospitalists since her body was in the late stages of decomposition. During D4vd’s “Withered World Tour,” a decomposed body was discovered in the trunk of his car, and he was forced to cancel the rest of his show.
After the body was discovered, a rapid police investigation was launched. Law enforcement, called to the tow yard in Hollywood due to a “foul odor” coming from the abandoned vehicle, found the remains of a young female in a state of advanced decomposition. The body was wrapped in a bag in the car’s front trunk, and the severe decomposition caused difficulty in identifying the body and determining the cause of death, which was initially deferred by the medical examiner’s office.
Within days of the discovery, the remains were identified as Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a teenager from Lake Elsinore who had been reported missing multiple times since April 2024. This identification, along with the fact that the car was registered to D4vd, drew significant public attention. A spokesperson for D4vd initially released a statement that the singer, who was on tour at the time, was “fully cooperating with the authorities.” The investigation quickly focused on a home in the Hollywood Hills where D4vd had been staying before his tour, and detectives executed a search warrant there, seizing a computer and other items for their investigation.
As the investigation continued into the following weeks and months, the situation escalated. D4vd abruptly canceled the remainder of his U.S. and international tour dates. The homeowner of the Hollywood Hills residence confirmed D4vd had broken his lease and moved out. A private investigator hired by the homeowner claimed to have found heavy machinery on the property. In November 2025, law enforcement sources confirmed to news outlets that D4vd had been identified as a suspect in the death investigation. However, no arrests have been made, and no charges have been formally filed as the official cause of death is still pending. Since the investigation is still ongoing, all of D4vd’s alleged charges are ongoing as well.
